Thoracic & Cardiac Rehabilitation
Breathe deeper, move better, and recover stronger.
Recovering from thoracic or cardiac surgery requires a structured approach to restore lung function, reduce breathing effort, and safely improve mobility. within your heart’s capacity. At CW Physio’s, we provide expert rehabilitation to help you regain strength and confidence after surgery.
What is Thoracic & Cardiac Rehabilitation?
Thoracic and cardiac procedures affect the heart and lungs, whether due to acute trauma—such as a lung hematoma from an accident—or chronic conditions like heart valve insufficiency. Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in optimizing recovery by enhancing lung expansion, improving circulation, and restoring mobility.
Conditions We Treat:
- Spontaneous pneumothorax
- Lobectomies
- Pleural effusions
- Atelectasis (lung collapse)
- Coronary stent or bypass surgery
- Cardiac valve replacement surgery
Rehabilitation begins as early as possible, often while still in the hospital, with targeted pulmonary exercises and guided movement to promote circulation and healing. Once discharged, we continue your care with a structured home exercise program designed to support long-term recovery and help you regain your optimal physical condition.
